THATCH - I
DETAILS
Thatch is the craft of building a roof using dry vegetation, such as straw, water reeds, rushes, heather, or palm branches. Thatched roofs were the norm in Britain for over 1,500 years. This collection combines the traditional thatch style with the traditional craft of weaving, using a selection of earthy tones and colours taken from the natural materials used.
This small collection of handwoven textile art pieces are created using textured merino wool, cotton, linen and mohair yarns in gorgeous sage green, caramel, brown, terracotta, natural and ochre colours. Each piece is one of kind and handwoven by Charlotte in our Margate studio.
